Giraffes are the tallest land animals on Earth, easily recognized by their incredibly long necks and legs, and their distinctive spotted coats. Native to Africa, they primarily inhabit savannahs and woodlands.
These herbivores are browsers, using their long, prehensile tongues to strip leaves, especially from thorny acacia trees, that are out of reach for most other animals. Their height also gives them an excellent vantage point to spot predators like lions, acting as "watchtowers" for other savanna animals.
